Split PDF

Extract specific pages or ranges from a PDF into separate files. Free, browser-based.

Your files never leave your device. No upload, no servers.

About Split PDF

Split PDF lets you extract one or more page ranges from a single PDF and download each range as its own file. Drop in your document, type the pages you want (for example "1-3, 5, 7-9"), and you'll get back three separate PDFs in seconds. The tool runs entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded to a server, so it's safe for confidential documents like contracts, tax returns, and medical records. You can extract a single page, a range of pages, or many ranges at once. Multiple outputs are bundled into a ZIP for easy downloading. Common uses include pulling a signature page out of a long contract, extracting one chapter from an ebook, splitting a scanned bundle of receipts into per-receipt files, and removing sensitive pages before sharing a document.

How Split PDF works

  1. Drop in a PDF (up to 25 MB on the free tier).
  2. Type the page ranges you want, separated by commas. Examples: '1-3' (one PDF, pages 1-3), '1, 3, 5' (three single-page PDFs), '1-3, 7-9' (two range PDFs).
  3. pdf-lib copies just the requested pages into new documents — original page sizes, fonts, and images are preserved exactly.
  4. Each range becomes its own PDF. Multiple ranges download together in a ZIP.
  5. The original file on your device is never modified.
